the AACSB Asia-Pacific Accreditation Conference was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from June 17 to 18. Zang Dexia, Director of the Office of International Accreditation and Quality Enhancement of our school, led a delegation to the event to discuss regional practices and accreditation strategies for global business education standards with counterparts across the Asia-Pacific region.
Marking the 110th anniversary of AACSB, the conference centered on “Global Business Education Standards”. It featured a series of keynote speeches and breakout sessions covering standard interpretation, continuous improvement system design, initial accreditation review and accreditation preparation. Keynote addresses systematically illustrated the core logic of aligning requirements with evidence under the new standard framework. Breakout forums focused on key accreditation modules including effective implementation of the Assurance of Learning (AoL) system, best practices for faculty categorization and development, and coordinated advancement of strategic planning and social impact, delivering comprehensive theoretical-to-practical guidance for participating institutions.
Our delegation gained indepth insights into how accreditation standards help schools optimize governance structures, refine teaching assurance systems and strengthen learning outcome assessment to drive holistic institutional progress. In-depth exchanges were also conducted with peer institutions on implementation approaches, governance experience and coping strategies, which broadened perspectives for future work.
Through this participation, our school has obtained deeper and more practical understanding of AACSB accreditation standards and procedures, and accumulated valuable experience for further improving the Assurance of Learning (AoL) system and advancing the internationalization of talent cultivation. Taking this as a new starting point, the school will benchmark against world-class international standards, advance institutional development through accreditation efforts, and inject new momentum into its high-quality growth.
