On the afternoon of October 18th, the Career Sharing Meeting of HHBS was successfully held on the second floor of Jiangning Convention Center. Mr. Qiu Chong, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of the School of Business, Mr. Shi Yuying, the counselor of the class of 2023, Fei Yihan from Tianjin University, Guo Zhuoran from Chongqing University, Wang Shuting from Hohai University, Shen Xiaoyue from Hohai University, Li Jiawen from Hohai University, and Li Aixi, who studied abroad, served as guests. During the sharing session, the guests answered students' doubts about further education and pointed out the direction of development based on their own career plans. The sharing session was hosted by Yang Yi, a student from the Career Development Department of the Business School Student Association for Science and Technology.
Fei Yihan started from two aspects: scientific research and training and social practice. Regarding scientific research and training, he suggested that students should first consolidate the foundation of the discipline, understand the process of innovation and training, and then seize the opportunity and promote the plan, and then pay attention to the output and transformation of results. Regarding social practice, Fei suggested actively trying and doing deep and practical. Finally, he emphasized the importance of academic performance and scientific research practice in the research program, and reminded the students to prepare as soon as possible.
By reviewing her experience of studying at Hohai University, Wang Shuting shared her experience and lessons in the evaluation of awards and the bonus points of the research institute, emphasizing the key role of grade points, and pointed out that it is necessary to pay attention to the type of competition and the selection of teammates in subject competitions.
Starting from the concept of goal management, Guo Zhuoran gave two methods of determining goals: interest and ability, and introduced the OKR planning method to the students based on his own experience. At the same time, she pointed out that Baoyan is a systems engineering, and students need to use the four years of university to make full planning and preparation.
Based on his own experience in the graduate school entrance examination, Li Jiawen provided students with suggestions on revision, school selection, mentality, and re-examination in the postgraduate entrance examination. In the process of sharing, Li focused on introducing the preparation ideas and learning methods, and gave suggestions on choosing schools according to personal ability, comprehensive major and personal planning, reminding everyone to adjust their status in time and show their enthusiasm in the re-examination.
Shen Xiaoyue provided another idea for the students to go on to higher education - the support group research plan. Starting from what he saw, heard and felt when he went to the teaching place to perform, Shen talked about his mental journey of resolutely giving up direct research and choosing to apply for the teaching group program. Mr. Shen also introduced in detail the process of the teaching group plan and the relevant preferential policies for teaching and research, and encouraged students to actively participate in such voluntary public welfare activities.
Mr. Qiu Chong introduced the study abroad programs of two colleges: the 3+2 Bachelor's and Master's programs at the University of Western Australia and the 3+1+X program at the University of California, Riverside. Based on his years of experience in international exchange and cooperation, he compared the advantages and disadvantages of the two schools in terms of academic standards, faculty and teaching environment, and encouraged students to consider studying abroad as a way to further their studies.
On the basis of Mr. Qiu, Li Aixi introduced the process of studying abroad to the students in simple terms from three aspects: feasibility analysis, personal planning and viewpoint sharing. On the one hand, Li pointed out the cost-effectiveness of studying abroad by comparing the recognition of employment and the return on investment. On the other hand, she elaborated on the various factors that need to be considered when choosing a school, and students should break out of the information cocoon and obtain information from multiple sources.
This experience sharing activity cultivated the students' sense of purpose, expanded a variety of information for further education, and demonstrated the excellent academic style of the young people of Hehai Business Institute. I believe that after listening to the experience sharing of the guests, the students can continue to broaden their new ideas for future development and embark on a wonderful career path with practical actions.
