The second phase of the "Joint Creation" Salon for International Students in 2024 - User Innovation Knowledge Sharing

        Mark Zuckerberg said, Innovation is the power to disrupt the status quo, the way it changes the world. In order to enhance the in-depth understanding of user innovation knowledge among international students at Hohai University, enhance their innovative thinking and practical ability, and enhance their ability to solve user problems in a cross-cultural context and their business acumen, on May 15, 2024, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of the School of Business launched the second phase of the Hohai University International Students Joint Innovation Salon 2024. In this salon, Mr. Tian Ming, a Ph.D. and lecturer of the Department of Marketing of the Business School, was invited as the keynote speaker to share the knowledge of user innovation for the students.

        At the beginning of the lecture, Mr. Tian took Lego, a popular toy, as an example to cleverly introduce the concept of user innovation. By talking about the development process of Lego, he let the students intuitively understand the importance and necessity of user innovation. Then, with the help of the familiar Worldcraft game, Mr. Tian further deepened the students' understanding of user innovation and made complex theories vivid and interesting.

         Subsequently, Mr. Tian began to explain the connotation of user innovation in depth. He elaborated on what user innovation is, why users innovate and how to carry out user innovation, and discussed the new trends and opportunities of user innovation in combination with the characteristics of the new era. With the advent of ALGC and social media, user innovation is facing new challenges such as more data, more tools, and more requirements. Therefore, keen insight, open and innovative thinking, and continuous learning are what we should keep in mind. Mr. Tian's explanation was simple and fascinating, which benefited the students a lot.

       At the climax of the lecture, Mr. Tian threw out two challenging questions: the advantages and disadvantages of ALGC and social media from the perspective of user innovation theory, and the ideas for the new era of user innovation. He encouraged the students to combine what they have learned, analyze problems from multiple perspectives, and put forward their own insights and solutions. In order to let the students understand the practical application of user innovation more intuitively, and at the same time provide students with ideas for answering questions, Mr. Tian personally demonstrated how to use AI technology to assist user innovation on the computer. He introduced the application of AI in data analysis, user portrait construction, product optimization, etc., and focused on demonstrating the part of AI drawing, which provided valuable thinking directions for the students. The students watched the demonstration carefully and expressed admiration and emotion from time to time. Subsequently, the students learned to use the AI tools introduced by the teacher, and they tried to download the software, input instructions, and optimize the model by themselves, and finally achieved small results. During this process, students exchanged ideas with each other, introduced their learning experiences and discoveries to each other, and discussed how to apply these AI technologies to practical projects.


            After a lively discussion and demonstration, the students gave wonderful answers to the two questions raised by Mr. Tian. Their answers not only show a comprehensive thinking about the pros and cons of technological tools, but also reflect a deep understanding of users' innovative ideas and in-depth thinking about the laws of human development. Mr. Tian spoke highly of the students' performance and encouraged them to continue to work hard, pursue innovation and improve themselves.

       After the lecture, the participating teachers and students took a group photo and left this unforgettable moment together.

     This lecture not only allowed the international students to deeply understand the connotation and significance of user innovation, but also stimulated their innovative thinking and creativity. Through this lecture, students will be able to apply the knowledge they have learned to practical work and life, improve their competitiveness in the new era, find a better career development direction, and lay a solid foundation for future career development.
