Xia Xin, female, a 2020 accounting major student, a member of the Communist Party of China, currently serves as the Deputy Secretary of the First Party Branch and Assistant Manager of the Student Affairs Department for undergraduate students majoring in accounting at the Business School. She is also an Assistant Tutor for Accounting Class 1 in 2021 and Accounting Class 2 in 2022. She actively participates in social practice activities and has been awarded the title of Excellent Team 3 times and Excellent Research Report 1 time in social practice by the school. She hosted and participated in 3 national and provincial-level innovation and training projects and won the third prize in the 8th LSCAT Cup Jiangsu Provincial Translation Competition, the second prize in the Guolian Securities Cup Topic Forum Activity, and the third prize in the 17th National College Student Digitalization Enterprise Management Sand Table Competition. Shee has won 9 school level scholarships, including the Academic Excellence Scholarship and the Spiritual Civilization Scholarship. Shee has also been awarded honors such as the Outstanding Student Cadre for the 2021-2022 academic year, the Outstanding Communist Youth League Member for the 2022 academic year, the Outstanding Youth Volunteer for the 2022 academic year, the Outstanding New Student Assistant for the 2022 academic year, and the Civilized Dormitory for the 2021-2022 academic year. She is now being promoted to the University of Hohai.
Xia Xin believes that it is important to make good use of some auxiliary learning tools in the process of university learning. For example, listening to online courses by renowned teachers can help us consolidate textbook knowledge and broaden our thinking horizons. Additionally, learning to communicate with others is crucial. A one-on-one learning approach is not as efficient and effective as a win-win approach of communicating and learning from classmates and teachers. Xia Xin said that in university, we can learn more from senior students, who are willing to share learning materials and many beneficial experiences with us. Standing on the shoulders of outstanding people, we can also become outstanding individuals.
Xia Xin mentioned that student work and personal growth are a mutually reinforcing and collaborative process. When she first served as the deputy secretary of the party branch, due to her lack of work experience, she had many problems that needed to be studied and explored, and did not know the optimal solution. In the process of slowly trying and exploring, her work skills were also constantly improving. She stated that the work of assisting in the affairs department is tedious and often phased, sometimes requiring communication with people from different colleges. Sometimes, she may sweat a lot due to various accidents during on-site activities. However, through work experience, she has gained a lot and become more meticulous. At the same time, under the guidance of her teacher, her ability to communicate with others and analyze and handle problems has greatly improved.
Xia Xin only applied to Hohai University during her postgraduate recommendation period. She believes that Hohai University is a school that places great emphasis on talent cultivation and humanistic care. She mentioned that during her four years of undergraduate studies, the school provided her with a valuable platform for growth, and the teachers and classmates around her also brought her infinite warmth and help. Regarding the preparations made to secure admission to graduate school, Xia Xin believes that academic performance is the foundation. In addition to learning, competitions, papers, and honors are also a way to hone one's comprehensive qualities. All of these require balancing oneself and bravely trying to explore.
